Kids, Cultures, Critters & Crafts Festival Expands to Include Two Stages of Entertainment, Cocktail Garden Party & Cincinnati Snaps: Volume One
Learning Through Art, Inc. presents the 14th year of celebrating the mosaic beauty of our region at their summer event, the Kids, Cultures, Critters & Crafts Festival on Friday, June 20, at the Cincinnati Zoo - only this time with a grownup twist. Zoo admission is free from 12-9 p.m. featuring entertainment-filled free bus rides on the Metro’s Route 1, The Art Bus, offering a full day of fun family entertainment for kids of all ages.
The Kids, Cultures, Critters & Crafts Festival offers face painting, strolling entertainment by the Amazing Portable Circus, Samba Band Parade, Duke Energy Books Alive! For Kids Celebrity Storytelling and the popular Kids Crafts Corner. The new International Stage centered in the Zoo’s botanical Garden presents features entertainment for children and families, including ZUMBA!, the McGing Irish Dancers and Sogbety Diomandešs West African Drum and Dance Company.
But starting at 5 p.m., Kilimanjaro Shelter becomes the stage for the new Kilimanjaro Cocktail Garden Party hosted by the Fine Arts Fund.
There, LTA will unveil Cincinnati Snaps: Volume One book which highlights photography submitted by neighbors throughout Greater Cincinnati as part of the Kroger Snap Your Neighborhood Photo Competition. The first 500 purchasers of this coffee table keepsake ($25) will receive a free disposable Snap Your Neighborhood 'Hood Cam. Cincinnati Snaps: Volume One will be available in area Kroger stores. Watch for the traveling Kroger Snap Your Neighborhood Photo Exhibition in selected area stores. All proceeds benefit the arts and literacy programs of Learning Through Art, Inc.
The party continues at 7:00 p.m. on the Macy’s Main Stage with national recording artist Vance Gilbert and the region’s hottest dance band, Soul Pocket.
The Kids, Cultures, Critters and Crafts Festival is presented by Macy’s. Concert Presenters are the Otto M. Budig, Jr. Family Foundation, Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden, Fine Arts Fund, the Carol Ann & Ralph V. Haile, Jr. Foundation, Kroger and Local 12, WKRC-TV.
