Woodstone Creek first opened as a farm winery in Lebanon, Ohio January, 1999. Within two years, Woodstone had outgrown it's building. By August of 2003, the production facility moved into a Cincinnati industrial district. This "urban winery" concept is more common on the West Coast. Centrally located near downtown and major interstates, tucked between Xavier University, Hyde Park, Norwood and Evanston, this former factory-warehouse-turned-winery is also a meadery and home to Ohio's first micro-distillery.
As a true artisan winery and boutique distillery, Woodstone Creek produces limited case lots of wine, mead and distilled spirit. An average bottling is between 22 and 50 cases.
The 50's retro-chic tasting room (the former factory president's paneled office) is open to the public on Saturdays. The tasting room features a spectacular curved, 1930's maple and mahogany bar, art gallery, hand-crafted jewelry, snacks and soft drinks. Parking is plentiful right at the door. All is on one level so handicap access is not a problem.
Customers can sample current releases for a small charge and purchase wine to go by the bottle or case. Wine can be served in keepsake stems that patrons can take home with them. Tastings are casual. Generally, reservations aren't necessary, but groups of ten or more should call several days in advance so we can provide adequate staff.
Woodstone Creek is a member of the Nicholas Longworth Heritage Wine Trail, Ohio Wine Producers Association, Ohio Grape Industries Program and American Distiller's Institute.
