Langus, formed in summer 1999, has become an incontestable force in the Cincinnati music scene as well as the surrounding areas. Don't let their relative new-comer status fool you. Within their first few years they have made incredible progress artistically as they chase their dream. Their accomplishments include a placement in the top three out of over 250 bands in the Tri-state's division of the Budweiser True Music Search, an invite to a showcase for Puretone Music and being selected out of nearly 1000 bands to play a showcase at the 2003 Midpoint Music Festival and invited back for the 2004 festival (mpmf.com). Langus's live performances on the region's premier circuit grew from 85 dates in 2002 to more than double that in 2003. Along the way they have developed a loyal fanbase that continues to grow as each show passes.

Langus's onstage performances showcase all of their strongest assets including songwriting, musical prowess and an energetic and fun live show. One of the major keys to Langus's success so far is their songs. They range from introspective to humorous to romantic and back again. Chief songwriter Chris Rook writes songs about experiences in his life that almost every listener and identify to. The subject matter varies from a whimsical account of an odd sexual encounter, to a humorous anecdote of high school experiences, to an intensely emotional song about suicide. Simply put, Langus's music is "real life" manifested in song.

Their firststudio release, "Better Left Alone", was recorded in early 2000. The album was originally not meant for large-scale sale. However as fate
would have it, their fans had a craving for the CD and it was quickly sold out. "Better Left Alone" was an album of growth for the band.  Shortly after completion their original bass player opted to pursue a career in the medical field and left the band. His presence was sorely missed as the remaining members struggled to find the right replacement. During their search a mutual friend mentioned Brian Bruemmer as a possible heir to the bass player position. An audition was arranged for the position. During the audition it was clear that the four musicians not only complimented each other musically but personally as well. By the end of the audition it was clear that not only did Langus have a full line-up once again, but were taking the first steps toward something incredible.

They began light gigging in late 2001 as Brian familiarized himself with performing as a member of Langus. After a few months of initiation they were ready to hit Cincinnati with all their might. In the summer of 2002 they beganplaying a radio sponsored weekly college night that has become a massive weekly event. Langus has also racked up an impressive list of local, regional and national acts that they have shared the stage with. Including Blessid Union of souls, Freekbass, Spindle, Buckra, Hoodwink, and many more.

With their next studio album in the works it is obvious that the best is yet to come from this talented young quartet. Enjoy the ride.
